Lassa Fever Awareness Campaign

In response to the Lassa fever epidemic, Crestfield Health Foundation took proactive measures to combat diseases of public health concern. As part of our ongoing efforts, we visited the Nigerian Navy Primary School Onne in Rivers State to raise awareness about Lassa fever, emphasize prevention strategies, and promote the significance of hand washing and personal hygiene.

Engaging with the Community:

Our visit to Nigerian Navy Primary School Onne was an opportunity to engage directly with students, teachers, and staff members. Through interactive sessions and educational materials, we discussed the causes of Lassa fever, its symptoms, and the importance of early detection. By fostering a dialogue, we aimed to empower individuals with knowledge and practical measures to safeguard their health.

Promoting Preventive Practices:

A key focus of our outreach was highlighting the role of prevention in combating Lassa fever. We emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean environment, practising good hygiene, and adopting proper hand-washing techniques. These simple yet effective measures can significantly reduce the risk of contracting and spreading infectious diseases like Lassa fever.

Empowering Future Generations:

By engaging with students at Nigerian Navy Primary School Onne, we invested in the health and well-being of future generations. Empowering young minds with health awareness not only protects them but also fosters a culture of responsibility towards community health. Through education and action, we strive to build resilient communities capable of tackling public health challenges.

Continued Advocacy:

Our visit to Nigerian Navy Primary School Onne reflects our ongoing commitment to public health advocacy and community engagement. We believe that proactive initiatives, such as raising awareness about diseases like Lassa fever, are crucial steps towards building healthier and more informed societies.

Conclusion:

The collaboration between Crestfield Health Foundation and Nigerian Navy Primary School Onne underscores the collective effort needed to combat diseases like Lassa fever. By working together, sharing knowledge, and promoting preventive practices, we can create a safer and healthier environment for everyone. Our visit was not just a momentary event but a stepping stone towards long-term health resilience and empowerment within the community.
